It is popularly known as《超级星光大道》, but after seven highly successful Seasons , Taiwan's most popular singing competition is back with a complete makeover ! This time , with a brand new name and a brand new look , the very same organisers are now looking for aspiring and talented singers , as well as those who have a huge passion in singing here in Singapore to join their inaugural《华人星光大道》competition in an Audition to be held next Sunday !

Missed popular singing competitions such as Campus Superstars & Project Superstars ? Wished that they make a return to our TV Screens again ? Then this upcoming all new singing competition - 《K歌2击队》Power Duet is one programme u definitely should not miss !

Power Duet - 《K歌2击队》will bring back fond memories of those days when u were watching these singing competitions on Channel U . The difference is that now it is no longer just that one person singing on stage and being graded by the judges . If you think Campus Superstars and Project Superstars are already so exciting , make that TWICE the Drama and excitement as this is a Duet competiion where two people will be singing on stage ( instead of one ) and judged upon by their performance .

《K歌2击队》which will see Kelvin Soon 孙文海 of Project Superstars fame make his hosting Debut , consists of a total of twelve Episodes and the fun begins next Tuesday , 1 March 2011 onwards . He will be joined by veteran Hosts Quan Yi Feng 权宜凤 & Lee Teng 李腾 . Roy Li 黎沸辉，吴佳明，林倛玉 & 黄韵仁 will make up the judging panel .

To give you a rough idea of what u can expect in this brand new singing competition on Mediacorp Channel 8 , Mediacorp Artistes such as 莫小玲，郑荔芬 ,锺琴，许振榮 , 阿Ben杨志龙 & 李腾 will show you how it is done in the pilot Debut Episode . 《小娘惹》The Little Nyonya Goes To Suria & Hongkong !

After having travelled to most parts of the world since it’s huge success two years ago - 《小娘惹》The Little Nyonya returned to our shores and to our TV Screens with a brand new look . It gets a ‘ new lease of life ‘ with it currently being shown on Primetime in a different language and on a new Timeslot . Since it’s huge success , the 34 Episodes Drama Serial has been dubbed in several different languages to cater to the needs of the many different audiences overseas and it’s dubbed Malay version is currently showing on Suria Channel thrice a week ( Mondays To Wednesdays ) at 7pm !

They combined to co-produce 《气势万千威虎年》贺岁新年专辑 for the very first time last year with very good response so it is no surprise that they have done it once again this year ! Good News for local Drama Serials fans ! Some of the local Drama Serials that u have been watching this year may well be making their way to China TV Screens as soon as next year ! Of which ,《红白囍事》New Beginnings has already been confirmed to be shown in China next year on China CCTV 8 Channel !

Before this , China CCTV 8 Channel has also shown the Long Running Family Drama Serial《喜临门》last year and the Mega Blockbuster Hit Drama Serial《小娘惹》also made waves in China when it was shown there , just like the many other countries the 35 Episodes Serial had been shown .

With just less than two weeks to the nation's 45th Birthday , and while most Singaporeans are already very familiar with the lyrics of this year's Official NDP Theme Song - ' Song For Singapore ' by Corrine May , a Music Video of another NDP Song - 《梦想起飞》by Local Male Singer 苏奕铨 Elson Soh has been making it's rounds on the Net and on Facebook .

In the short space of four days , it has already attracted nearly 2,000 hits on Youtube and those who had watched the Music Video on the Video Sharing Site has left numerous positive comments as well as on his very own Facebook Page too . Great responses has been pouring in since the Video was been uploaded on Tuesday .

A case of deja vu , for the second year running ? Last year , we reported that most Singaporeans prefer the Unofficial NDP Song ' Things So Singaporean ' to the Official NDP Song - ' What Did You See ? ' by local band Electrico , which was not as well received . The Unofficial Song was gradually gaining in popularity shortly after it was put up on youtube . The Video also made headlines in The Sunday Times . There were also calls for ' Things So Singaporean ' to be made as the Official NDP Song instead , where a Facebook Group was created .

Elson who ? You may ask .... You may not have exactly heard his name before this or known who he actually is before you heard this song . He may be little known to many of us here in Singapore . His name may not have rang a bell to many of us at the very first instance . But after this Unofficial NDP Song , many will come to learn more about him , and to find out even more about him .

He may not have been as popular , or as big a name as his fellow local male singers such as JJ Lin or A - Do . Elson Soh 苏奕铨 was born September 6 , 1988 , is an artist under a local Label Record and Artist Management Company M5 Royal Music .

Elson studied in Yuhua Primary School , Kranji Secondary School and Pioneer Junior College . His first brush with music came when he was 14 years old , when a classmate introduced him to the guitar. They formed a band and won first prize in what was his first taste of talent time competition .

In the year 2005, he joined the talent quest Teenage Icon , organised by Teenage Magazine but he dropped out in the Semi-Finals.

He was scouted by M5 Royal Music and released his first Single《祝你幸福》- "Wish You Happiness" in 2006 in a collaboration with EMI Music Singapore .

In 2007 , he released another new single《了解》- "Understanding".

Since his debut in showbiz, Elson has graced many magazines and radio stations, namely SPH owned YOU Weekly Magazine and Radio Station 100.3 FM , Mediacorp I - Weekly Magazine , YES 93.3FM and 95.8 FM . He was also the cover boy of the September 7 issue of Choices Magazine.

In 2008, Elson wrote the song《爱无极限》- "Love Infinity" for the Sichuan Earthquake victims. The song was recorded in a period of 3 days, with over 50 local artists from various singing competitions involved. Elson produced the entire recording , together with two of his friends Hazel Lim and Amos Ang .

Taiwan Number 1 popular singing competition - < 超級星光大道 > is coming back to our shores once again this year ! After successful achievements of our Singapore representives in the competition PK rounds in Taiwan last year . These was after Campus Superstars Rachel Chua 蔡艾珈 , 黄智阳 Huang Zhiyang and Project Superstar Diya Tan 陈迪雅 emerged as winners at the end of an Audition held at Kallang Leisure Park , winning for themselves a trip to Taiwan to PK with the contestants there .

This year , the organisers are here in Singapore once again , but this time round , they are not here to look for potential PK competitors . Instead , they are here to choose and pick talented local potential contestants to represent our country in Taiwan . That's right , chosen winners of the Audition this time round will get to compete with the rest of the contestants in Taiwan on a weekly competition basis !

So , if u want to let your voice do the talking and be heard on a big stage , here's your first big step to stardom ! The Singapore Leg Audition will be held on next Sunday , 25 July 2010 at City Square Mall , Basement 1 Fountain Square from 11am onwards .

Both of them just went Head To Head in last Sunday's《红星大奖》 Star Awards and they will do battle against each other yet again , this time with three others to contest for the《最佳男主角》Best Actor Award in this Sunday's《红星大奖》Star Awards 2010 Ceremony to be held at Resort World Sentosa . 黄俊雄 Elvin Ng's Tarzan ( 泰山 ) & 戴阳天 Dai Yang Tian's 林小杯 Lin Xiaobei character in last year's End of Year Mega Blockbuster Drama -《当我们同在一起》TOGETHER managed to make it through to the Final Top 10 of the Favourite Male Characters Award last weekend , but were not enough to walk away with the big prize , ultimately won by dark horse 鹤天赐 Nat Ho .

Initially , some felt that both Elvin and Dai Yang Tian do not deserve a nomination in this category , especially for their performance in《当我们同在一起》TOGETHER . Their nomination , announced back in February , had some TV Viewers up in arms and crying foul of their nomination for their performance in《当我们同在一起》TOGETHER , where they felt that both had not done enough in that Serial to deserve a place in the《最佳男主角》Best Actor Award Category . Mediacorp Channel 8 LIVE Morning current affairs show on Weekdays -《早安您好》Good Morning Singapore which had just celebrated their fifteen Anniversary recently gets a rare Star Awards recognition and scored " big " in this year's《红星大奖 2010 》Nomination Lists as three out of the total five nominees in the《最佳时事节目主持人》- Best Current Affairs Presenters Award Category were from《早安您好》- Good Morning Singapore itself ! As such , this ' new ' Award which had been split into two entirely different Categories this year , has struck a couple of " first " !

《红星大奖 2010》will go down as one of the longest Star Awards ever to be held in Local TV History , especially with two separate Awards Nights this year , as well as a LIVE Red Carpet Segment too , not forgetting the Post Awards Celebration Show right after the second Awards Night , all to be held at Sentosa Resort World itself ! This is also only the second time that the Star Awards had been held outside Mediacorp Studios !

Four years ago , the annual prestigious Local TV Event of The Year was being held at St James Power Station , with half an hour of the Red Carpet Show being shown LIVE one Hour earlier at 6pm on Channel 8 where Radio YES 933 FM DJ Lin Peifen and Mark Lee were Hosts for the segment interviewing the Guests Presenters and Performers as they arrive at the venue . The same thing will be done again for this year's glamourous star studded Awards Show on the last Sunday of this Month , where a 30 mins Red Carpet Segment will be shown LIVE at 5.30pm , on top of the actual three Hours Awards Show on the night at 7pm , with an Hour of Post Awards Celebration Show to follow suit on Channel U at 10pm , stretching that night's Star Awards LIVE Telecast alone for a duration of a whopping 5 Hours !

They were the biggest winners in last year's《红星大奖》Star Awards and they are back again for this year's Star Awards too ! The Hit TV Blockbuster Drama which was the biggest winner on the night , won a total of five Awards , including a double victory in the Best Supporting Actress Award where both Xiang Yun and Ng Hui were joint winners of the Category ! 陈伟联 Kelvin Tan recently became only the second Singaporean to have scored full marks ( 25 marks ) in the PK Segment of Taiwan's most popular Singing competition -《超级星光大道》which is into it's sixth Season this year ! Powerhouse teenage Campus Superstar sensation 蔡艾珈 Rachel Chua has a big part to play in Mediacorp CNY Drama Serial - < 过好年 > Happy Family currently showing on Mediacorp Channel 8 Weekdays - Mondays To Fridays at 9pm . Not as a lead or supporting role in the 20 Episodes Series though , but she will be doing what she does best to contribute to the Serial ! This is the Chinese New Year Album released by the DJs from Malaysian Radio Station 988FM , comprising of ten songs in total - with three all new compositions and four popular and very familiar CNY Songs and two CNY Songs in Hokkien ! Especially with CNY Day 1 this year happens to fall on Valentine's Day , Mediacorp Channel 8 together with Official Beer Sponsor Carlsberg will be bringing u an extra special and Romantic CNY that U will never forget on this special occasion with your loved ones !

Following the Marina Bay Countdown Party on Mediacorp Channel 5 on New Year's Eve not too long ago , Carlsberg has once again gotten into celebratory festive mood , this time to spread Chinese New Year atmosphere and cheer all round the islandwide starting Tonight onwards right up till Chinese New Year Day 1 itself !

The first of these Roadshows Event will be held at Blk 211 Toa Payoh Lorong 8 from 7pm - 10.30pm Tonight ( 8 Jan 2010 ) and the second will be at the same time on next Tuesday , 12 Jan 2010 at Blk 85 Redhill Lane, Redhill Cooked Food Centre & Market .
